Women Photographers Living in Conflict, Violence or Humanitarian Crisis Areas

The VISIBLES Project is a program focused on an exhibition of photographs taken by women photographers living in countries affected by conflict. This collective exhibition is accompanied by discussion panels and, starting in 2024, includes ongoing mentorship and a support program for the selected photographers through a photography competition. The main goal of the VISIBLES project is to give visibility to the work of women photographers living in countries at war or facing social conflict. The first phase of the project takes shape through a photography exhibition showcasing a selection of award-winning works from an annual open-themed competition, open to both professionals and amateurs. The exhibition, held mainly in Paris (and in other locations each year), the world’s art capital and an international platform, aims not only to empower these women and promote their work, but also to highlight the conflict situations in their home countries.

The program is open to women photographers, both amateurs and professionals, valuing particularly creativity and photographic instinct both artistic and documentary. We celebrate art and use photography as a means of empowerment for the population, by encouraging more women to explore and to immerse themselves in the field of photography, by promoting their integration, their professional growth and their artistic development.

VISIBLES is not just an exhibition — it’s also a journey of support and empowerment.

The VISIBLES project is a space where photography, whether artistic or documentary, becomes testimony. VISIBLES empowers women photographers from regions affected by conflict and crisis by providing them with a global platform for their stories and resilience to shine through their lenses.
