Women photographers residing in urban areas of war, social conflict or humanitarian crisis

The VISIBLES Project creates a platform every year international for women photographers living in zones of war, social conflict or humanitarian crisis. The impact starts from the opening of the application : when a woman understands that photography can be his means of expression, her view of the world, her own space — this is already a victory.

The project revolves around an annual cycle, an individual support program for the winners, and a permanent camera collection program that feeds the project by giving access to the photographic tool to women who don't have any.

A project of thePim Pam Pum NGO, founded in 2022. Organized for women, designed with communities in mind, worn in Paris and around the world.

Projet VISIBLES — Bloc 4 Participer
Apply

Soon
for you.
It's free.

The VISIBLES Project is open to all women photographers residents in a guest territory — beginners, amateurs or professionals. No special experience is required. Only your gaze matters.

01
Being a woman
The competition is reserved for women photographers. Open to all resident nationalities of the invited territories
02
Reside in a guest territory
26 territories invited this year. Check out the full list — if you live there, you can participate.
03
Have photos to share
Minimum 1 photo, maximum 3. Completely free theme. Taken with a device or a smartphone — it doesn't matter.
04
That's it — and it's free
No registration fees. No specific hardware required. Ten minutes maximum to complete the form.
How to do 3 stages
01
Choose your photos

Select between 1 and 3 of your photographs. Completely free theme — it's your look that counts, not the subject. Cameras, smartphones, any tool. JPEG format, between 1 MB and 5 MB per image.

02
Fill out the form

Complete the online form with your information : name, country of residence, short biography (minimum 5 lines), and the titles of your photos. You can also send everything by e-mail to visibles@pimpampum.fr . Maximum 10 minutes.

03
Wait for the results

The results are communicated by e-mail to all the candidates and announced on Instagram @ong_pimpampum. Even if you are not selected, you are invited to attend the round table and to the masterclasses.

What the jury evaluates
Your gaze,
not your technique

The jury evaluates your ability to capture and to communicate — an emotion, a truth, a strength. The technique is secondary. A photo taken with a smartphone can be selected in the same way as an image of professional photographer.

To reassure you
By participating,
you've already won

Don't think of this as a space very competitive. It is a space made for you — a woman living in a territory in conflict that dares show your perspective on the world. This act alone has value.

The convocation
opens soon.

à Paris et dans le monde

Des milliers de visiteur·se·s ont découvert, devant une fleur, un portrait ou un mur en ruines, que ce qui les unit n'est pas le sujet — c'est la vulnérabilité d'une femme qui vit là.

This project was born with the hope that one day,
there are no more countries to invite.

Cultural representatives
The bridges
between Paris
and the territories
From MMXXV · all guest territories
Who are they
and they?

People deeply connected to one of the invited territories — that they still live there, that they came from there or that they are refugees in France. They know the terrain, the local realities, languages and networks.

Their role is transversal: especially active during the convocation - by broadcasting the call and by accompanying the candidates — and during the table ronde, where they bring their indispensable cultural and human context

01
Disseminate the convocation
In their local, diaspora and community networks — to reach women that the NGO cannot reach alone.
02
Accompany the candidates
Help to understand the form, remove doubts, create trust between the candidate and the project.
03
Participate in the round table
Bring their knowledge of the field and their cultural context to the debate — in person or online.
04
Being the human link
Without them, many women would not know that the VISIBLE Project exists.
Who can become a cultural representative?
Particularly welcome :

People related to the photographie · au journalisme · à l'art · aux ONG · au travail social · à l'action solidaire · au soutien aux femmes vulnérables · aux droits humains.
Refugees, students, professionals, diaspora members — all profiles are welcome. No special experience required.

Important information

This competition is for enthusiastic photographers, beginners and professionals alike.

Through the power of images, we aim to raise public awareness of the challenges facing women in these regions and highlight their resilience in the face of adversity, while at the same time promoting gender equality and sustainable development.

This year, we are awarding a special prize to one of the photographs related to the resident photographer's country of origin and a second prize to the photo chosen by the public.
