The “Mérida” Photography Biennial is an ambitious event aimed at promoting Venezuelan photographers while offering the public an exceptional educational and artistic experience. The 2024 edition of the Biennial, themed “Call Us Venezuelans,” sought to highlight the country’s diverse regions—from the Andes to the Llanos, and the Caribbean—while also giving visibility to Indigenous ethnic groups. To ensure the success of the event, 49 Venezuelan photographers took part in this edition.
The event began in Mérida, at the Archaeological Museum of the University of the Andes, and then expanded across Venezuela—starting with Los Galpones, followed by the Ateneo de Bellas Artes in Maracaibo, and finally reaching Margarita, at the Francisco Larez Granado Cultural Complex.
Already recognized in Venezuela, the project now aims to reach an international audience. With this goal in mind, on Tuesday, February 25, the Biennial made its debut in France, in collaboration with the NGO Pim Pam Pum, at the Galerie de la Maison Étudiante.
Come be part of this exceptional event! You’ll have the opportunity to discover powerful works by renowned Venezuelan photographers, capturing the very essence of Venezuela’s national identity!
